Call of Duty: Black Ops

2010-07-25 20:43:39 (Edited: 2010-07-25 21:00:06)

A few weeks ago, Treyarch flew more than a dozen COD community leaders out to the studio to preview Call of Duty: Black Ops, and bring back their impressions to their various sub-communities. Dan Amrich of OneOfSwords was in attendance, and put together this video wrap-up of the event for your enjoyment!

Additionally, each attendee wrote up their own thorough recap w/ impressions of the event. Find below a list of some of the various articles. Everyone saw the same thing, so you’ll see a lot of repeat content; but each had their own take on the demo so you might want to read through a bunch (or all) of these to get the best idea possible.

battle.no Developers now switching back to dedicated servers is truly a step in the right direction, most fans at battle.no was very dissapointed to see the last release peer to peer network. News leaked about the idea that players will have to pay to play Blackops like they'r playing world of warcraft aka by account is discarded by Robert Downing on he's blog.
Modern Warfare 2 subscription plan rumors going around. For the record, nobody has to pay to play COD or MW2 multiplayer, nor will they.

Information about the game is still difficult to find, however searching throught the community forums we where able to find a missions panel which gives fans the oppertunity to engage in missions made by the developers, by the looks of it you will need to pay in points to use the service and it limited by numbers. There are no official news on what maps and new gadjets will be put into the game, Vahn (Treyarch Developer) has just minutes ago asked the community what perks they would like to see in the game. Thumbs up for Developers asking players what they want to see in the game.

What looks interesting is that Call Of Duty:BlackOps now ventures into a new gamemode, the CoOp scene, a scene held by Arma2 at battle.no servers. Coop actually lets the players play missions toghether against AI's.....it remains to see how inteligent the AI's will be and if it's popular game mode amogst the Call of Duty fans.
